General Description: LINC-TC needs assistance with hospitality work including purchasing, setting up, and cleaning up refreshments at the beginning of several different regular meetings that we host. Purchases will be reimbursed. One group meets once a quarter during a weekday, either 9 – 12 or 1 - 4. Another group meets one Saturday every 2 months from 8 – 3.  Other events  occur on Saturdays from 9-noon.

General Description: 363 Days is an organization dedicated to assembling sandwiches that will eventually be fed to the hungry and homeless in our metro area.  A retired schoolteacher, Mr. Allan Law, distributes these sandwiches to 500 people every day of the year.  Volunteers (individuals, families, and groups) of all ages are needed to assemble sandwiches. Sandwiches will then need to be dropped off at one of their 7 drop off sites in the metro area.

General Description: Dinner at Your Door is an ecumenical, non-profit, community service program that delivers prepared meals to shut-ins in the northwest suburbs (Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope, eastern Plymouth, and Robbinsdale).  Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver a midday meal to shut-ins in the northwest suburbs, weekdays from 10:30-noon.  All drivers must have a current driver's license and insurance.  A commitment of at least once a month or as an occasional substitute is preferred. General Description: Hennepin County Adult Corrections Facility is a short-term correctional facility (a.k.a. "the Workhouse") for male and female offenders who are serving court-ordered sentences up to one year.  When residents have fulfilled their sentencing, they leave with whatever clothing they wore upon entering the facility, the clothes they were wearing at the time of sentencing.  Many do not have the local support to provide seasonally appropriate clothes. Groups of volunteers are needed to do a collection drive for warm clothing  items, such as larger sized pants, belts, socks, shoes, and winter coats.

General Description: Hennepin County Adult Corrections Facility is a short-term correctional facility (a.k.a. "the Workhouse") for male and female offenders who are serving court-ordered sentences up to one year.  Volunteers are needed to maintain flower beds around the facility and at the driving range at their facility in Plymouth on Tuesday mornings and afternoons.  Volunteers often work alongside residents to weed, prune, and maintain the landscape as needed. General Description: World Relief Minnesota is a refugee resettlement agency working in community with the local Christian Church, to transform refugees economically, socially, and spiritually.  Volunteers are needed to walk alongside a refugee trying to navigate the overwhelming demands of American life for the first time.  Some examples of things you can do to befriend a refugee: show them how to pay bills, how to make appointments, how to grocery shop; take their kids to the zoo; carve pumpkins with them; learn about their culture, and teach them about yours.  Most volunteers begin serving in one specific capacity (e.g. driver to grocery store), but their impact will grow as trust and friendship builds with the refugee family.  A minimum 3 month commitment is requested, visiting the family once a week at a time that works for your schedule.  Those interested can submit contact information by clicking on the "tell me more!" button below or you may directly contact Katie Day at 612-746-5634.

General Description: World Relief Minnesota is a refugee resettlement agency working in community with the local Christian Church, to transform refugees economically, socially, and spiritually.  Volunteers are needed to provide transportation for some of the numerious appointments that new refugees must attend, ranging from going to the Social Security office or registering for school.  Often this requires a volunteer to pick up the refugee from their home, take them to the appointment, and then help them fill out any necessary paperwork (as most refugees have limited English), and then drop them back at home.  This is one of our most common needs and a way to experience a fun cultural excahnge and participate directly in resettlement services.  A minimum 3 month commitment is requested, and if you are available even two times monthly, we can schedule client appointment times around your schedule.  Those interested can submit contact information by clicking on the "tell me more!" button below or you may directly contact Katie Day at 612-746-5634.

General Description: World Relief Minnesota is a refugee resettlement agency working in community with the local Christian Church, to transform refugees economically, socially, and spiritually.  Volunteers are needed to gather basic needs items and in so doing help meet the practical needs of newly arrived refugee families. This might take the form of a resource drive (i.e. school supplies, kitchen items, or other gifts in kind), a welcome kit (all the basic household necessities that are needed to start a new home), or buying groceries (either items off a list or donating gift cards to WRM).  Refugees often arrive with only one bag of possessions and do not receive public assistance and food stamps until a full month after their arrival, so thse gifts of love make a huge difference for families.  Those interested can submit contact information by clicking on the "tell me more!" button below or you may directly contact Katie Day at 612-746-5634.

General Description: World Relief Minnesota is a refugee resettlement agency working in community with the local Christian Church, to transform refugees economically, socially, and spiritually.  A team of volunteers is needed to walk alongside a refugee family for the transitional first year of their new life in America, providing material support, time and other intangible resources, and friendship to the refugee family.  Churches/small groups participating in this Refugee Life Ministries (RLM) program receive training in cross-cultural communication, background information on the ethnic group of the refugee family, and how to form a team within a church to successfully assist with resettlement without volunteers being overwhelmed. General Description: Bundles of Love helps local families by providing bedding, clothing and baby care products to needy and sick babies.
